Heather Scarpinato is an artist who resides in Sarasota, Florida.  Her colorful abstract paintings are created with acrylic paints, natural mica, glitters, glass and epoxy resin, and inspired by nature.  An Ohio native and an artist from an early age, Heather studied photography and art at Wright State University before relocating to beautiful Sarasota.  She began a career in decorative artistry in the mid 90's, and her work can be seen in homes from Tampa to Punta Gorda.  She specializes in wall and ceiling paint finishes, stenciling, mica installations, furniture refinishing, and custom countertop and tabletops using epoxy resin.  She is passionate about her custom abstract expressionist paintings, the creation of which involve many layers of fluid movement and beautiful blends of vibrant colors.  She incorporates glitters, crystals, glass, mica, and metal leafing into many of these pieces on birch panels, which are finished with layers of resin. Her paintings are displayed in private collections in homes in California, Ohio, Florida, New Jersey, Illinois and Germany, and are on public display at restaurants and offices in Sarasota.

"Painting and creating is a true passion for me, I don't remember a time when I wasn't drawing, paintings, or creating something!  I'm always inspired by what I see in nature, whether it be water or sky or rock or colors, and my paintings reflect a love of a life spent appreciating  nature."
